MISSION: To GROW and GO and Give God the GLORY

VISION:
We gather together in order to EQUIP ourselves with the Word of God and to ENCOURAGE one another the spiritual growth so that we may ENABLE others, through our lives, to come to know the love of God through Jesus Christ.

As we have begun the New Year and have committed to reading our Bibles every day for the whole year, I would like to give you 8 Biblical reasons to encourage you with this endeavor.

Read it as a necessary part in your spiritual regeneration.

1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” 2 Peter 1:4 says, “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Read it as spiritual bread that sustains your life.

Matthew 4:4 says, “But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Read it for spiritual growth.

1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction n righteousness.

Read it as a light that provides unfailing guidance.

Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Read it as a source of protection against evil impulses and temptation.

Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Verse 9 says, “Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy Word.

Read it to establish your faith.

Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Acts 20:32 says, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

Read it to fortify the promise of your hope.

Titus 1:2 says, “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.”

Read it because it is alive and powerful.

Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerned of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

All these reason sand verses describe what the Bible can do for us. As we read the Bible everyday, we allow its life changing power to influence us. As we obey it, the Holy Spirit uses it to transform us. And as we apply it to our daily living, God is glorified. Let us not be satisfied with just reading it, but living it in a real and practical was each and every day. 2Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” May God bless us in this effort to know more of Him and to grow spiritually.
