A Note From Pastor Brown

“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:35-38

In this passage of scripture we see Jesus practicing Evangelism. He went to the places where the people were. He didn’t wait for them to come to Him. And as He went He taught and met the needs of the people. We must do the same today. We can’t wait for them to come to us and ask us why we are different, we must seek them out and let them know how we are different. Not only did Jesus GO, He also SAW the multitude. HE saw their condition, their need for a Savior and a need for Hope. And He was MOVED with Compassion. Many times we GO, but we are so focused on our agenda, we don’t see the needs around us. And when we don’t see the needs we do nothing. It doesn’t touch us. It is time we opened our eyes and let Jesus refocus our eyesight and begin to be moved with compassion and meet the needs of those around us. And then comes the challenge. Will you become a laborer for Christ? The harvest is plenteous, the harvest is ready, the harvest is now. Will you GO, SEE, and be moved with Compassion? We still have names in our box that need to be reached. Are we continuing to pray? Are we seeking ways to move the names from one box to the other? Or have we settled for less?
